Parking a Car on a Telephone Cable Manhole: What is the Penalty?
According to Clause 1, Article 18 of the 2008 Road Traffic Law, it is stipulated:
Stopping a vehicle means the temporary state of the vehicle coming to rest for long enough to allow persons to get on or off the vehicle, load or unload goods, or perform other tasks.
Additionally, at Point h, Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, it is stipulated:
- A fine from 400,000 VND to 600,000 VND for drivers committing one of the following violations:
Stopping the vehicle not close to the sidewalk, street curb on the right side in the direction of travel or the nearest wheel being more than 0.25 m away from the sidewalk, street curb; stopping on tramway tracks, a road dedicated to buses; stopping on drainage covers, phone lines manhole covers, high-voltage power lines manhole covers, places dedicated for fire brigade vehicles to get water; leaving the driving position, turning off the engine when stopping; stopping, parking not in the designated position at places arranged for stopping, parking; stopping, parking on the part of the road reserved for pedestrians crossing the street; stopping in places with “No Stopping and Parking” signs, except for violations specified at point i of clause 4, point b of clause 6 of this Article;
