Operating a Motor Vehicle Over the Speed Limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h: What Is the Penalty?
According to Point i Clause 5 Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP:
Article 5. Penalty for drivers of cars and similar types of vehicles violating road traffic rules
- A fine ranging from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000 shall be imposed on drivers committing one of the following violations:
Driving at a speed exceeding the speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h.
- Additionally, committing the above-mentioned violation will also result in the suspension of the driver's license for a duration of 01 month to 03 months;
Note: Starting from January 1, 2022, the fine for driving at a speed exceeding the speed limit by 10 km/h to 20 km/h will be increased to range from VND 4,000,000 to VND 6,000,000 (Point d Clause 34 Article 2 of Decree 123/2021/ND-CP).
