Operating a Motor Vehicle on the Shoulder of the Highway: Penalties and Fines

At Point g Clause 5 Article 5 Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, the following regulation is stated:

Article 5. Penalties for drivers of cars and similar vehicles violating road traffic rules

- A fine ranging from 3,000,000 VND to 5,000,000 VND shall be imposed on drivers committing one of the following violations:

Failing to comply with regulations when entering or exiting an expressway; driving in the emergency lane or shoulder of the expressway; changing lanes in unauthorized areas or without prior signals when driving on the expressway; failing to maintain a safe distance from the preceding vehicle when driving on the expressway;

If the above-mentioned violations cause a traffic accident, the driver's license shall be revoked for 02 to 04 months.
