Is Motorbike Wheelie Subject to Vehicle Confiscation?
Based on the provisions at Point (e) Clause 3 Article 30 of the Road Traffic Law 2008:
Motorcycle riders, three-wheel motorcycle riders, and motorbike riders are not allowed to perform the act of letting go of both hands or riding on one wheel for two-wheel vehicles, or riding on two wheels for three-wheel vehicles.
According to this regulation, the act of wheelie riding one wheel by motorbike riders is a violation of traffic laws.
According to Point (c) Clause 8 Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, a fine ranging from VND 6,000,000 to VND 8,000,000 shall be imposed on riders performing one of the following violations:
Operating a vehicle on one wheel for two-wheel vehicles, or on two wheels for three-wheel vehicles.
In addition, the right to use the driver's license shall be revoked from 02 months to 04 months; in case of repeat offenses or multiple violations of this act, the right to use the driver's license shall be revoked from 03 months to 05 months, and the vehicle shall be confiscated (Point (c) Clause 10 Article 6 Decree 100).
According to Point (b) Clause 1 Article 82 of this Decree, to immediately prevent administrative violations, the authorized person shall have the right to temporarily seize the vehicle for up to 07 days before issuing a penalty decision for the wheelie violation.
=> Therefore, if you perform a wheelie with a motorbike and are found to be a repeat or multiple offender, your vehicle shall be confiscated.
