How much is the penalty for motorbikes carrying oversized cargo?
Section 4, Article 19 of Circular 46/2015/TT-BGTVT on Regulations on the width and length of cargo loading on road vehicles when traveling on roads for motorcycles, mopeds is as follows: Cargo and luggage must not exceed the width of the luggage rack as per the manufacturer's design by more than 0.3 meters on each side and must not exceed 0.5 meters behind the luggage rack. The height of the cargo loaded from the road surface must not exceed 1.5 meters.
Section 4k, Article 6 of Decree 46/2016/ND-CP stipulates a fine ranging from 300,000 VND to 400,000 VND for operators of motorcycles, mopeds who load cargo exceeding the stipulated limits...
In addition to being fined, the operator who commits the violation shall also be subject to additional penalties, including being revoked the right to use their Driver's License for a period ranging from 02 months to 04 months.
Thus, if you transport goods exceeding any of the above limits, you will be considered carrying bulky cargo and will be fined from 300,000 VND to 400,000 VND, and your Driver's License will be revoked from 02 months to 04 months.
