How much is the fine imposed upon electric bicycle operators who run a light and fail to wear a helmet in Vietnam?
According to Point dd Clause 2 and Point dd Clause 3 Article 8 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP regulating the penalties for operators of bicycles, motorized bicycles (including electric bicycles), and other rudimentary vehicle operators violating road traffic rules, specifically:
- A fine ranging from 100,000 VND to 200,000 VND for operators who do not comply with traffic signal instructions;
- A fine ranging from 200,000 VND to 300,000 VND for operators carrying passengers on motorized bicycles (including electric bicycles) without wearing a "helmet for motorbike and motorcycle riders" or wearing it improperly fastened, except for cases of carrying sick individuals for emergency, children under 6 years old, or escorting individuals committing legal violations;
Thus, if you operate an electric bicycle and run a red light without wearing a helmet, you may be fined from 300,000 VND to 500,000 VND.
Sincerely!
