How much is the fine imposed on automobile operators changing lanes on an expressway without signals in Vietnam?
According to Point g Clause 5 Article 5 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP:
A fine ranging from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000 shall be imposed upon a vehicle operator who commits any of the following violations in Vietnam:
- Failure to obey the rules when entering or leaving the expressway; going in the emergency lane or on the shoulder of the expressway; changing lanes on an expressway at inappropriate positions or without signals; failure to keep a safe following distance on the expressway;
Additionally, Point b, Clause 11 Article 5 of this Decree stipulates as follows:
In addition to fines, drivers who commit the violation will also be subject to the following additional penalties:
- The violation(s) specified in Point dd Clause 2; Points h and i Clause 3; Clause 4; Points a, b, d, dd, g, h and i Clause 5 of this Article shall lead to suspension of driving license from 1 month to 3 months;
Therefore, automobile operators changing lanes on an expressway without signals in Vietnam will be fined from VND 3,000,000 to VND 5,000,000 and their driving license will be revoked for 01 month to 03 months.
