How much is the fine for riding a motorbike towing another vehicle carrying bulky goods?
According to Point k, Clause 3, Article 6 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP regulating the penalties for operators of motorbikes, mopeds (including electric motorbikes), and similar vehicles that violate road traffic rules as follows:
A fine ranging from VND 400,000 to VND 600,000 shall be imposed on operators committing any of the following violations:
Operators driving or carrying passengers who cling, pull, or push other vehicles or objects, lead animals, carry bulky items; carry passengers standing on the saddle, cargo rack or sitting on the handlebars; loading goods on the vehicle beyond the regulated limits; towing another vehicle or object.
Regarding bulky items, specified in Clause 4, Article 19 of Circular 46/2015/TT-BGTVT. Accordingly:
Motorbikes and mopeds must not load goods or luggage exceeding the width of the cargo rack as designed by the manufacturer by more than 0.3 meters on each side, exceeding the rear of the cargo rack by more than 0.5 meters. The height of the cargo, measured from the road surface, must not exceed 1.5 meters.
Therefore, in the case where you drive a motorbike towing another vehicle that carries bulky items, you will be fined between VND 400,000 and VND 600,000.
