How Many People Are Allowed on a 7-Seater Car?
At Clause 2 and Clause 4, Article 23 of Decree 100/2019/ND-CP, it is stipulated:
- A fine from 400,000 VND to 600,000 VND per person exceeding the allowed number of passengers the vehicle can carry, but the total maximum fine must not exceed 40,000,000 VND shall be imposed on drivers of passenger cars and cars carrying people (excluding buses) committing the following violations:
+ Carrying 2 or more extra people in cars with up to 9 seats,
+ Carrying 3 or more extra people in cars with 10 to 15 seats,
+ Carrying 4 or more extra people in cars with 16 to 30 seats,
+ Carrying 5 or more extra people in cars with more than 30 seats, except for violations stipulated in Clause 4 of this Article.
- A fine from 1,000,000 VND to 2,000,000 VND per person exceeding the allowed number of passengers the vehicle can carry, but the total maximum fine must not exceed 40,000,000 VND shall be imposed on drivers of passenger cars running a route with a distance of more than 300 km committing the following violations:
+ Carrying 2 or more extra people in cars with up to 9 seats,
+ Carrying 3 or more extra people in cars with 10 to 15 seats,
+ Carrying 4 or more extra people in cars with 16 to 30 seats,
+ Carrying 5 or more extra people in cars with more than 30 seats.
=> Thus, according to the above regulations, a 7-seater car is allowed to carry one extra person. In cases where 2 or more extra people are carried, administrative penalties shall be imposed according to the above-mentioned fines.
