When does the Huong Pagoda Festival 2025 in Vietnam occur?
The Huong Pagoda Festival takes place from February 3 to May 1, 2025 (equivalent to the 6th of January to the 4th of April in the Year of the Snake). Notably, the festival opening day on the 6th of January is the most significant, marking the beginning of the festival season.
Thus, the Huong Pagoda Festival 2025 will end on May 1, 2025 and will be held under the theme "Huong Pagoda Festival: A Destination for Vietnamese Tourism, Culture, and Tradition."
From January 1, 2025, the integrated ticket price for sightseeing and boat services on the Huong Tich route is 230,000 VND for adults and 65,000 VND for children.
The Long Van - Tuyet Son route is 85,000 VND for adults and 50,000 VND for children.
For cable car services from Thien Tru pagoda to Huong Tich cave, a round-trip ticket is 260,000 VND for adults, 180,000 VND for children and eligible concessionary individuals.
The price for a one-way trip is 180,000 VND for adults, 120,000 VND for children and eligible concessionary individuals.
The electric car ticket price from the parking lot to the boat station is 20,000 VND per person per trip.
For vehicle storage fees, My Duc district is proposing to Hanoi city to allow a fee collection for passenger cars under 9 seats at 30,000 VND per trip, over 10 seats at 50,000 VND per trip, and an additional 20,000 VND per car if parked overnight.

Under what circumstances will a festival in Vietnam temporarily be suspended?
Pursuant to Article 8 of Decree 110/2018/ND-CP on the temporary suspension of festival organization:
Article 8. Temporary Suspension of Festival Organization
- The competent authority receiving the registration or notification has the right to issue a written order for the temporary suspension of the festival in the following cases:
a) The festival organization distorts the content and value of the festival;
b) The festival organization leads to a breach of security, social order, and safety; violates regulations on traffic safety, environmental protection causing serious consequences; causes fire, explosion, or death;
c) Occurrence of natural disasters, epidemics adversely affecting social life in the locality;
d) Activities disseminating or propagating information, materials, items containing fabricated content about the heritage value, and tradition of the festival causing public anxiety.
- The festival organizing committee must self-suspend or immediately suspend all festival activities as required by the competent state management authority; promptly mitigate consequences, propose a plan to continue organizing the festival for the competent state management authority to consider and decide.
According to the above regulation, a festival is temporarily suspended in the following circumstances:
- The festival organization distorts the content and value of the festival.
- The festival organization leads to a breach of security, social order, and safety; violates regulations on traffic safety, environmental protection causing serious consequences; leads to fire, explosion, or mortality.
- Occurrence of natural disasters, epidemics adversely affecting social life in the locality.
- Activities disseminating or propagating information, materials, items containing fabricated content about the heritage value, and tradition of the festival causing public anxiety.
Which festivals must register for organization in Vietnam?
According to Article 9 of Decree 110/2018/ND-CP, festivals that must be registered for organization include:
[1] Festivals that must register with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism before organizing include:
- Cultural festivals, occupational festivals organized for the first time by the central authority.
- Cultural festivals, occupational festivals from two or more provinces held for the first time.
- Festivals originating from foreign countries held for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more.
[2] Festivals that must register with the provincial-level People's Committee before organizing include:
- Traditional festivals, cultural festivals, occupational festivals at the provincial level organized for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more;
- Traditional festivals, cultural festivals, occupational festivals involving multiple districts within a province, central city organized for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more.
[3] Festivals that must register with the district-level People's Committee before organizing include:
- Traditional festivals, cultural festivals, occupational festivals at the district level organized for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more.
- Traditional festivals, cultural festivals, occupational festivals involving multiple communes within a district, urban district, district-level town, provincial city, city under central authority organized for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more.
- Traditional festivals, cultural festivals, occupational festivals at commune level organized for the first time or restored after a hiatus of two years or more.
- Traditional district and commune-level festivals organized annually but with changes in method, content, and location compared to tradition.
