Locations for firework displays on New Year's Day 2025 in Hanoi City
The People's Committee of Hanoi City has issued Plan 375/KH-UBND in 2024 on organizing the fireworks display for New Year's Eve 2025 in Hanoi.
There will be a total of 5 locations: 6 fireworks sites combining high-altitude and low-altitude displays, including:
(1) Site No. 1: Hoan Kiem District (in front of the Headquarters of Hanoi Moi Newspaper).
(2) Site No. 2: Hoan Kiem District (in front of Hanoi Post Office).
(3) Site No. 3: Nam Tu Liem District (within the F1 race course area, Phu Do Ward).
(4) Site No. 4: Ha Dong District (Van Quan Lake, Van Quan Ward).
(5) Site No. 5: Son Tay Town (Son Tay Ancient Citadel).
(6) Site No. 6: Dong Anh District (Dong Anh District Sports Center).
For high-altitude fireworks: A total of 3,600 shells (each site with 600 shells); for low-altitude fireworks: A total of 540 arrays (each site = 90 arrays).
- Duration: 15 minutes.
- Shooting time: From 00:00 to 00:15 on January 1, 2025.

How many days off do employees in Vietnam get for New Year 2025?
Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulating public holidays:
Article 112. Public holidays
- Employees are entitled to full-paid leave on the following public holidays:
a) New Year's Day: 01 day (January 1 of the calendar year);
b) Lunar New Year: 05 days;
c) Victory Day: 01 day (April 30 of the calendar year);
d) International Labor Day: 01 day (May 1 of the calendar year);
dd) National Day: 02 days (September 2 of the calendar year and 01 immediate preceding or following day);
e) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 01 day (March 10 of the lunar calendar).
- Foreign employees working in Vietnam are entitled to an additional day of national traditional New Year and a day of their national day besides the holidays specified in clause 1 of this Article.
- Every year, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister of Vietnam decides specific days off stipulated at points b and d of clause 1 of this Article.
According to the above regulation, employees are entitled to 1 day off on New Year's Day (January 1 of the calendar year). In 2025, New Year's Day falls on Wednesday (January 1, 2025), which is a weekday; therefore, officials, public employees, and workers will have 1 day off on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
If the employer designates Wednesday as a weekly day off, employees will be allocated a compensatory day off on another day. (Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code 2019).
How many annual leave days are employees in Vietnam entitled to when working under regular working conditions?
According to Article 113 of the Labor Code 2019 stipulating annual leave:
Article 113. Annual leave
- Employees who have worked for a full 12 months for an employer are entitled to annual leave, fully paid according to the labor contract, as follows:
a) 12 working days for those working under normal conditions;
b) 14 working days for minor employees, disabled workers, or those doing heavy, hazardous, and dangerous jobs;
c) 16 working days for those doing particularly heavy, hazardous, and dangerous jobs.
- Employees who have not worked for a full 12 months for an employer are entitled to annual leave days proportionate to the actual working months.
- In cases of employment termination or dismissal where employees have unused annual leave, the employer shall compensate with salary for the unused leave days.
- Employers are responsible for specifying the annual leave schedule after consulting employees and must notify employees in advance. Employees can arrange with employers to take annual leave in multiple sessions or accumulate it up to 3 years.
- When taking annual leave not coinciding with the payroll period, employees are entitled to a salary advance according to clause 3 of Article 101 of this Code.

According to the above regulation, employees working under normal conditions who have completed 12 months for an employer are entitled to 12 days of annual leave.
Additionally, for every 5 years of working for an employer, there is an increase of 1 day of annual leave (as stipulated in Article 114 of the Labor Code 2019).
