What are regulations on Vietnamese money?
Pursuant to Article 55 of the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2013 stipulating as follows:
1. The state budget, national reserve, state financial funds and other public financial resources must be uniformly managed by the State and shall be used in an efficient, fair, public, transparent and lawful manner.
2. The state budget consists of the central budget and local budgets, in which the central budget plays the leading role and ensures national spending needs. State budget revenues and expenditures must be estimated and must be prescribed by a law.
3. The national monetary unit is the Vietnam dong. The State shall ensure the stabilization of the national currency value.
Pursuant to Article 16 of the Law on State Bank of Vietnam in 2016 stipulating currency unit as follows:

The currency unit of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is "dong". with its national symbol being "d" and international symbol being "VND": one "dong" is equal to ten "hao" and one "hao" is equal to ten "xu".

According to Clause 2, Article 5 of Decree 87/2023/NĐ-CP (effective from February 2, 2024), the dossier for requesting the appraisal of counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money is as follows:

What is the regulation on the time for issuing the results of the appraisal of counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money in anti-counterfeiting money in Vietnam?
According to Clause 3, Article 5 of Decree 87/2023/NĐ-CP (effective from February 2, 2024), the dossier for requesting the appraisal of counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money is stipulated as follows:

3. The appraisal agency shall conduct the appraisal within a maximum of 05 working days for 01 sheet or piece of money; in case the number of money to be appraised exceeds 20 sheets or pieces for 01 dossier for requesting appraisal, the maximum time is not more than 60 days from the date of receiving all valid dossiers in accordance with the provisions of Clause 2 of this Article.
During the appraisal process, if the appraisal is found to exceed the specified time, the appraisal agency shall send a written notification to the agency, organization, or individual requesting the appraisal.
4. The appraisal to determine the authenticity of the currency in accordance with this Decree is free of charge. The cost of judicial appraisal of Vietnamese currency shall be implemented in accordance with the provisions of the law on judicial appraisal.
5. In case there is no consensus on the results of the appraisal of money between the appraisal agencies, the results of the appraisal of the State Bank of Vietnam shall be valid.
As regulations above, the appraisal agencies for counterfeit and suspected counterfeit money will have the following time for conducting the appraisal:
- A maximum of 05 working days for 01 sheet or piece of money;
- A maximum of not more than 60 days for the number of money to be appraised exceeding 20 sheets or pieces for 01 dossier for requesting appraisal.
During the appraisal process, if the appraisal is found to exceed the specified time above, the appraisal agency shall send a written notification to the agency, organization, or individual requesting the appraisal.
