Schedule for Lunar New Year 2024 Holiday of Banks
Tet Holiday Schedule 2024 for Banks
In Notification 5015/TB-LDTBXH in 2023 regarding the Lunar New Year holiday for officials and public employees and workers as follows:
- Officials and public employees and workers of administrative agencies, public service units, political organizations, and socio-political organizations (hereinafter referred to as officials and public employees) will have the Lunar New Year holiday 2024 from Thursday, February 8, 2024 (29th of the twelfth lunar month, Year of the Cat) to the end of Wednesday, February 14, 2024 (5th of the first lunar month, Year of the Dragon). This holiday includes 05 days of Lunar New Year holiday and 02 compensatory days for weekly holidays as prescribed in Clause 3, Article 111 of the Labor Code.

Agencies and units should arrange the Lunar New Year holiday and National Day holidays in 2024 reasonably to ensure continuous work and good service to organizations and the public.
For agencies and units that do not have a fixed Saturday and Sunday off schedule, the holiday schedule will be determined based on the entity's specific program and plan.
For workers who are not covered by Clause 1 of this Notification, the employer will decide on the plan for the Lunar New Year and National Day holidays in 2024 as follows:
- For the Lunar New Year holiday: choose either 01 day of the last year of the Cat and 04 days of the first year of the Dragon or 02 days of the last year of the Cat and 03 days of the first year of the Dragon or 03 days of the last year of the Cat and 02 days of the first year of the Dragon.

Generally, the Lunar New Year holiday schedule of banks will be the same as the holiday schedule for officials and public employees. You can refer to the Lunar New Year holiday 2024 for the following banks:

What are the position and functions of the State Bank of Vietnam?
Article 2 of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010 stipulates the position and functions of the State Bank of Vietnam as follows:
- The State Bank of Vietnam (hereinafter referred to as the State Bank) is a ministerial-level agency of the Government of Vietnam, the central bank of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
- The State Bank is a legal entity, having its own statutory capital owned by the state, with its headquarters in Hanoi.
- The State Bank performs the state management functions on currency, banking operations, and foreign exchange (hereinafter referred to as currency and banking); performs the central bank functions of issuing money, being the bank of credit institutions, and providing monetary services for the Government of Vietnam.
Who is the head and leader of the State Bank of Vietnam?
Article 8 of the Law on the State Bank of Vietnam 2010 stipulates the leadership and management of the State Bank as follows:
Leadership and management of the State Bank
The Governor of the State Bank is a member of the Government of Vietnam, the head, and the leader of the State Bank; accountable to the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam and to the National Assembly for state management in the fields of currency and banking.
The Governor of the State Bank has the following duties and powers:
a) Organize and direct the implementation of the national monetary policy within the authority;
b) Organize and direct the implementation of the duties and powers of the State Bank as stipulated in this Law and other relevant legal provisions;
c) Represent the legal entity of the State Bank.
As such, the Governor of the State Bank is the head and leader of the State Bank.
