Must Taxi Drivers Issue Receipts When Payment for the Fare is Made?
According to Clause 2, Article 6, Decree 10/2020/ND-CP (effective from April 1, 2020), the regulations specify:
Taxi vehicles using fare meters
- The vehicle must be equipped with a fare meter that has been inspected and sealed by a competent metrology authority, and must have a receipt or fare ticket printing device connected to the fare meter in the vehicle; the fare meter and printing device must be fixed in a position easily observed by passengers; the driver must print the receipt or fare ticket and give it to the passenger at the end of the trip;
- The fare ticket must include the following minimum information: the name of the transport business unit, vehicle registration number, trip distance (km), and the total fare the passenger has to pay.
=> Thus, from April 1, 2020, taxi fare payments will require the driver to print the receipt or fare ticket and return it to the customer.
