Graduation with an Intermediate Degree in Geology Exploration: Eligibility for Issuance of Groundwater Drilling Practice Permit?
Graduated from Intermediate Level in Geological Exploration, is it possible to be licensed for groundwater drilling?
As stipulated in Point a, Clause 2, Article 6 of Circular 40/2014/TT-BTNMT regarding conditions for being granted a license for small-scale groundwater drilling operations:
- The head of the organization or the person principally responsible for the technical aspects of the organization or individual practicing the profession (hereinafter collectively referred to as the person principally responsible for technical matters) must be knowledgeable about the legal regulations on groundwater protection and must meet the following conditions:
a) For small-scale groundwater drilling operations:
Must have a professional qualification of intermediate level or higher in the fields of geology (exploration geology, hydrogeology, engineering geology, geotechnics), drilling and at least two (02) years of experience in the occupational field, or be a Level 3/7 skilled driller or equivalent and have at least four (04) years of continuous experience in the occupational field; must have directly participated in the design, reporting or construction of at least five (05) groundwater drilling projects.
Thus, in your case, with an intermediate level qualification in exploration geology, you may be granted a license for small-scale groundwater drilling operations. However, you must meet other conditions as stipulated in Article 6 of Circular 40/2014/TT-BTNMT to be granted the license.
The duration of the groundwater drilling license?
As stipulated in Article 7 of Circular 40/2014/TT-BTNMT regarding the duration of the groundwater drilling license:
The duration of the groundwater drilling license is five (05) years and can be considered for multiple renewals, each renewal lasting three (03) years.
Thus, the duration of the groundwater drilling license is 05 years and can be renewed multiple times. Each renewal lasts 03 years.
