Management of Patients Receiving HIV Antiretroviral Treatment at Commune Health Stations
According to Article 7 of Circular 28/2018/TT-BYT on the management of treatment for individuals infected with HIV and those exposed to HIV in medical facilities, issued by the Minister of Health and effective from January 1, 2019, the management of patients under HIV antiretroviral treatment at commune health stations is stipulated as follows:
Receive patients and verify personal information on the patient's identification documents against the information on the Referral Form.
Dispense medication according to the prescription recorded in the Referral Form and the patient's Medical Record Book. Before dispensing medication, conduct a medical examination, tuberculosis screening, and assess the patient's treatment adherence. If there are no abnormal signs and the patient adheres well to the treatment, dispense antiretroviral drugs monthly according to the prescription. Clearly record the name of the medication, the quantity dispensed, and usage instructions in the patient's Medical Record Book. In case of abnormal signs, handle within the scope of professional capacity. If it exceeds professional capacity, refer the patient as per regulations.
Remind the patient of follow-up examination appointments at the treatment facility according to the schedule in the Medical Record Book and the Referral Form.
The above is the consultation content.
Respectfully!
