Maximum Fine Amount by the Chief Inspector of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment

Based on Point b, Clause 2, Article 50 of Decree 155/2016/ND-CP stipulating the authority to impose administrative sanctions of the Specialized Inspectorate as follows:

The Chief Inspector of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment and equivalent positions assigned by the Government of Vietnam to perform the function of specialized inspection on natural resources and environment have the authority to:

- Issue warnings;

- Impose fines up to 50,000,000 VND;

- Revoke environmental permits for a fixed term or suspend activities for a fixed term;

- Confiscate administrative violation means and materials with a value up to 50,000,000 VND;

- Apply remedial measures for violations as specified in Clause 3, Article 4 of this Decree.

Thus, regarding the authority to impose administrative sanctions on environmental violations, the Chief Inspector of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment can impose fines up to 50,000,000 VND.
