Given that my work schedule is quite packed, I will be traveling by plane. Point a, Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 40/2017/TT-BTC stipulates that employees on business trips are reimbursed for travel expenses, which include:
- Costs for the journey to and from home or office to the airport, train station, bus station; airfare, train fare, public transport fare to the business destination and return.
- Travel expenses at the local business destination: From the place of rest to the workplace, from the airport, train station, bus station to the place of rest (round trip).
- Costs for land, waterway, and maritime transportation for the employee and their vehicle.
- Freight for documents, equipment, tools, props (if any) directly serving the business trip paid by the employee.
- Baggage fare for employees traveling by air in cases where the ticket price does not include baggage charges.
If the sending office and the receiving office have arranged transportation, the employee is not reimbursed for these expenses.
Therefore, when you go on a business trip to Da Nang, your airfare will be paid by Xuyen A Hospital where you work, and you do not need to cover this expense.
2. What are the standards for business trip airfare for public employees?
According to Point c, Clause 1, Article 5 of Circular 40/2017/TT-BTC, the standards for purchasing domestic business trip airfare are as follows:
- For high-level leaders (above the Minister level), follow the current State regulations.
- Business class (Business class or C class) for: Leadership officials enjoying the leadership salary scale and allowances as promulgated under Resolution No. 730/2004/NQ-UBTVQH dated September 30, 2004, of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly on the approval of the leadership salary table and allowance table for state leadership officials; professional, judicial, and prosecutorial salary tables; Decision No. 128-QD-TW dated December 14, 2004, of the Central Secretariat of the Communist Party on salary policies for officials and public employees of the Communist Party, Fatherland Front, and mass organizations, or Decree No. 204/2004/ND-CP dated December 14, 2004, of the Government of Vietnam on salary policies for officials and public employees and armed forces, including: Ministers and equivalent positions; Deputy Ministers and leaders with an allowance coefficient of 1.3 or higher; Deputy heads of central political-social organizations; Permanent Secretary of the Central Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
- Economy class: For all other subjects.
