Accommodation Allowance for Officials on Business Trip
Section 1 Article 6 of Circular 40/2017/TT-BTC stipulates travel allowances as follows:
- Travel allowance is an additional amount of money provided to employees undertaking a business trip, on top of their regular salary, paid by the institution or unit dispatching the employee. It is calculated from the start date of the business trip to its conclusion, including transit time and stay at the destination.
The travel allowance rate for employees on business trips is VND 200,000/day.
In cases where the business trip is conducted within a day (departure and return on the same day), the head of the institution or unit decides the travel allowance rate based on the following criteria: The actual number of hours spent on the business trip during the day, the time spent working outside of regular office hours (including transit time), the distance covered during the business trip, and as stipulated in the internal spending regulations of the institution or unit. However, the maximum allowance shall not exceed 10 months statutory pay rate.
Therefore, if your father is an official dispatched on a business trip by the unit, the current prescribed travel allowance is VND 200,000/day.
Sincerely!
