Based on Article 41 of the Gender Equality Law 2006, actions violating the law on gender equality within the family include:

- Obstructing a family member with legal qualifications from deciding on family assets due to gender.

- Preventing or hindering a family member from voicing opinions on the use of family assets, conducting income-generating activities, or fulfilling other family needs due to gender bias.

- Unequal treatment of family members based on gender.

- Restricting or forcing a family member to quit education due to gender.

- Imposing household labor, contraception measures, and sterilization as responsibilities for a particular gender.

What are measures for promoting gender equality in Vietnam?

According to Article 19 of the Gender Equality Law 2006, measures to promote gender equality include:

e) Stipulating the prioritization of women when they meet similar conditions and standards as men;

g) The gender equality promotion measures stipulated in Paragraph 5 of Article 11, Paragraph 2 of Article 12, Paragraph 3 of Article 13, Paragraph 5 of Article 14 of this Law.

The National Assembly, Standing Committee of the National Assembly, and the Government of Vietnam are authorized to stipulate measures to promote gender equality as provided in Paragraph 1 of this Article and are responsible for reviewing the implementation of these measures and deciding to terminate them when gender equality objectives are achieved.

According to the above regulations, promoting gender equality is carried out through the following measures:

- Stipulating male, female ratios or ensuring an appropriate female participation ratio and benefit.

- Measures to promote gender equality in the political sector include:

+ Ensuring an appropriate proportion of female representatives in the National Assembly and People's Council in line with national gender equality targets.

+ Ensuring an appropriate female ratio in appointing positions in state agencies in accordance with national gender equality objectives.

- Measures to promote gender equality in the economic sector include:

+ Enterprises employing many female workers are eligible for tax and financial incentives according to legal regulations.

+ Rural female laborers receive credit, agricultural, forestry, and fishery extension support according to legal provisions.

- Measures to promote gender equality in the labor sector include:

+ Stipulating male, female ratios in labor recruitment.

+ Training and developing to enhance skills for female workers.

+ Employers must ensure occupational safety and hygiene for female workers in heavy, hazardous occupations, or those involving exposure to harmful substances.

- Measures to promote gender equality in education and training include:

+ Stipulating male, female participation rates in education and training.

+ Rural female laborers receive vocational training support in accordance with legal regulations.
