Management of Facilities Producing Products for Livestock Waste Treatment under the 2018 Livestock Law
On November 19, 2018, the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Session XIV, during its 6th meeting, passed the Animal Husbandry Law No. 32/2018/QH14 (referred to as the 2018 Animal Husbandry Law).
The 2018 Animal Husbandry Law regulates animal husbandry activities; rights and obligations of organizations and individuals in animal husbandry activities; and state management of animal husbandry.
According to the provisions of Article 63 of the 2018 Animal Husbandry Law (effective from January 1, 2020), the management of facilities producing waste treatment products for animal husbandry includes:
- Production sites located in areas not polluted by hazardous waste;
- Environmental impact assessment report or environmental protection plan in accordance with the law on environmental protection;
- Suitable production lines and equipment for producing products;
- Measuring devices and instruments for quality monitoring, ensuring accuracy as prescribed by the law on measurement;
- Storage facilities for waste treatment products, animal husbandry with specific preservation policies;
- A technical leader with a university degree or higher in one of the following majors: animal husbandry, veterinary, chemistry, biotechnology, or environmental technology.
