How many annual leave days are there for employees in arduous, hazardous, or dangerous occupations in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 113 Labor Code 2019 on annual leave:
Article 113. Annual leave
- Employees who have worked for an employer for 12 months are entitled to annual leave with full pay based on the labor contract as follows:
a) 12 working days for employees working under normal conditions;
b) 14 working days for minor employees, disabled employees, those in arduous, hazardous, or dangerous occupations;
c) 16 working days for employees in occupations deemed especially arduous, hazardous, or dangerous.
- Employees working for less than 12 months shall be entitled to annual leave corresponding to the number of working months.
- If an employee resigns, is laid off without having taken or used up their annual leave, the employer must pay the employee for the unused days.
- Employers are responsible for scheduling annual leave after consulting employees and must announce it in advance. Employees may negotiate with employers to take annual leave in multiple times or accumulate up to three years once.
- During annual leave when it is not yet time for salary payment, employees shall receive a salary advance according to Clause 3, Article 101 of this Code.
- If annual leave involves travel by land, rail, or water transport exceeding 2 days, the additional time shall be granted beyond the annual leave only once a year.

Article 114. Additional annual leave per seniority
