Is it required to send the labor contract to the Department after obtaining the work permit?

The employees at our company have already been granted work permits. They will officially start working for our company in 7 days. Therefore, when we sign the labor contracts with them now, does our company still have to submit the labor contracts to the Department of Labor since the work permits have already been issued?

Based on the provisions in Clause 3, Article 12 of Decree 11/2016/ND-CP:

For foreign workers employed under labor contracts, after the foreign worker is granted a work permit, the employer and the foreign worker must sign a written labor contract in accordance with Vietnamese labor law before the expected date of work commencement for the employer.

Within 05 working days from the date of signing the labor contract, the employer must send a copy of the signed labor contract to the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs that issued the work permit.
