What information must be posted at the extra classes in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 6 Circular 29/2024/TT-BGDDT on regulations on extra teaching and learning outside schools:
Article 6. Extra Teaching and Learning Outside Schools
- Organizations or individuals organizing extra teaching and learning activities outside schools and charging students (hereinafter collectively referred to as extra teaching facilities) must comply with the following requirements:
a) Business registration as per legal regulations;
b) Publicly disclose on the electronic portal or post at the extra teaching facility's premises about the subjects being taught; duration of extra teaching for each subject by grade level; location, form, and time of organizing extra teaching and learning; list of extra teachers and the tuition fees before enrolling in extra teaching classes (according to Template No. 02 in the Appendix attached to this Circular).
- Extra teachers outside schools must ensure good moral character and professional competence suitable for the subjects they participate in teaching.
- Teachers teaching in schools participating in extra teaching outside schools must report to the Principal or Director or head of the school (hereinafter collectively referred to as the Principal) about the subject, location, form, and time of extra teaching (according to Template No. 03 in the Appendix attached to this Circular).
According to the above regulations, the following information must be posted at the extra teaching facilities:
- Subjects organized for extra teaching
- Duration of extra teaching for each subject according to each grade level
- Location, form, and time of organizing extra teaching and learning
- List of extra teachers and the tuition fees before enrolling in extra teaching classes
What are the different educational levels within the national education system in Vietnam?
Pursuant to Article 6 Education Law 2019 regulating the national education system:
Article 6. National Education System
- The national education system is an open, interconnected system comprising formal and non-formal education.
- The educational levels and training degrees of the national education system include:
a) Early childhood education includes nursery and kindergarten education;
b) General education includes primary education, lower secondary education, and upper secondary education;
c) Vocational education offers elementary, intermediate, college-level training, and other vocational training programs;
d) Higher education provides bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.
- The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam decides to approve the framework structure of the national education system and the National Qualifications Framework of Vietnam; specifies training duration, standards for each training degree, and minimum study load for vocational and higher education levels.
- The Minister of Education and Training, the Minister of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, within their respective responsibilities and authority, regulate the entry thresholds for college and university-level teacher training and fields in the health sector.
The current national education system has 4 educational levels:
(1) Early childhood education: for children aged 3 to 5 years, including nursery and kindergarten education;
(2) General education for students aged 6 to 18 years, includes:
+ Primary education: for students aged 6 to 11 years, spanning 5 academic years.
+ Lower secondary education: for students aged 11 to 15 years, spanning 4 academic years.
+ Upper secondary education: for students aged 15 to 18 years, spanning 3 academic years.
(3) Vocational education offers elementary, intermediate, college-level training, and other vocational training programs;
(4) Higher education provides bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees.
