According to Article 3 of Decree 84/2020/ND-CP, the summer vacation time for elementary school teachers is regulated as follows:
Summer Vacation Time for Teachers
- Summer vacation time for teachers:
a) The annual summer vacation time for teachers at preschools, general education institutions, and specialized schools is 08 weeks, including annual leave.
b) The annual summer vacation time for teachers at secondary vocational schools and lecturers at colleges is 06 weeks, including annual leave.
c) The annual summer vacation time for lecturers at higher education institutions shall be determined according to the organizational and operational regulations of the higher education institution;
d) In case of unexpected, urgent situations to prevent and combat natural disasters, epidemics, or other emergencies, the summer vacation time for teachers at preschools, general education institutions, specialized schools, secondary vocational schools, and colleges will be decided by the Minister of Education and Training and the Minister of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in accordance with their authority.
In addition to the summer vacation time specified in Clause 1 of this Article, teachers and lecturers are entitled to holidays, Tet holidays, and other leave as prescribed by the Labor Code.
Based on the academic year's timetable issued by the Ministry of Education and Training and the local conditions, the Chairperson of the People's Committee of the province or central city (hereinafter referred to as the provincial People's Committee) will decide the summer vacation time for teachers at preschools, general education institutions, and specialized schools in the locality.
Based on the provisions of point b, clause 1 of this Article, the principal of the secondary vocational school and the college shall decide the summer vacation time for teachers and lecturers in accordance with the training plan and the specific conditions of each school.
- The summer vacation time for teachers in educational institutions under the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of National Defense will be implemented according to the specific regulations of the Government of Vietnam.

- Proactively implement and advocate, guide colleagues to implement policies, guidelines, and laws of the Communist Party and the State, as well as regulations and requirements of the educational sector and local authorities on elementary education in assigned tasks;
- Actively, flexibly, and creatively implement educational plans suitable for students, schools, and localities; support colleagues in effectively implementing teaching and educational plans;
- Actively and proactively share experiences, guide, and support colleagues, parents, and the community to improve the educational effectiveness for students;
- Capable of evaluating or guiding colleagues to produce research products in applied educational science from the district level upwards;
- Capable of applying information technology in professional activities;
- Capable of using a foreign language or ethnic minority language as required by the job position;
