Currently, according to Clause 6 Article 1 of Circular 57/2012/TT-BGDDT regulating academic warnings for university students as follows:
Academic warnings are issued each semester to help students with poor performance become aware and develop appropriate study plans to graduate within the maximum allowable time frame for the program. The issuance of academic warnings is based on the following conditions:
- A cumulative GPA below 1.20 for first-year students, below 1.40 for second-year students, below 1.60 for third-year students, or below 1.80 for students in subsequent years and final term;
- .....
According to current regulations, if first-year students have a cumulative GPA below 1.20, they will receive an academic warning.
In the near future, according to Point c Clause 1 Article 11 of the University-level Training Regulations issued with Circular 08/2021/TT-BGDDT (Effective from May 3, 2021), the regulation on academic warnings is as follows:
At the end of each main semester, students will be issued academic warnings based on the following conditions:
A cumulative GPA below 1.2 for first-year students, below 1.4 for second-year students, below 1.6 for third-year students, below 1.8 for students in subsequent years.
In the forthcoming period, first-year students with a cumulative GPA below 1.20 will receive an academic warning.
=> Thus, in your case, as a first-year student with a cumulative GPA below 1.5, specifically below 1.2, you will receive an academic warning.
Sincerely!
