Where do candidates in Vietnam register for the 2025 national high school graduation exam?
Pursuant to Article 20 of the Regulations on High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating the exam registration:
Article 20. Exam Registration
- Registration location:
a) Individuals specified at point a, clause 1, Article 19 of these Regulations register for the exam online or directly at the high school where they study in grade 12;
b) Individuals specified at points b, c, d, clause 1, Article 19 of these Regulations register online or directly at the location (referred to as the registration site) designated by the Department of Education and Training. The head of the unit at the registration site is responsible for performing the tasks prescribed in Article 63 of these Regulations.
- Registration for exam subjects:
a) To be recognized for high school graduation: Candidates must register for the subjects of Literature, Mathematics, and one elective test comprising 02 subjects from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, History, Geography, Economics and Law Education, Informatics, Industrial Technology, Agricultural Technology, Foreign Language. Candidates may choose 02 subjects of the elective test among those studied in grade 12. Candidates can register for a Foreign Language subject different from the one being studied at high school;
b) Candidates specified in points c, d, clause 1, Article 19 of these Regulations need only register for the desired exam subjects. For the elective test, candidates are allowed to choose a maximum of 02 subjects.

Pursuant to Article 19 of the Regulations on High School Graduation Exam issued together with Circular 24/2024/TT-BGDDT regulating the candidates, conditions for the exam:
Article 19. Candidates, Conditions for Exam
- The candidates for the exam include:
a) Persons who have completed the General Education Program/Informal Education Program in the year the exam is organized;
b) Persons who have completed the General Education Program/Informal Education Program but have not yet graduated from high school in previous years;
c) Persons who have a high school graduation diploma and take the exam to use the results for university entrance;
d) Persons who have a vocational diploma and take the exam to use the results for university entrance.
- Conditions for exam:
a) The candidates must register for the exam and submit all necessary documents on time;
b) Individuals specified in point d, clause 1 of this Article must ensure that they have studied and passed the required cultural knowledge volume of high school according to the Education Law and the current guidance documents of the Ministry of Education and Training.
