Will Not Joining the Bar Association Result in the Revocation of the Lawyer Practicing Certificate?
Based on Clause 9, Article 1 of the 2012 Amended Law on Lawyers, the regulation is as follows:
Individuals who have been granted a Legal Practice Certificate and fall into one of the following cases will have their Legal Practice Certificate revoked:
- No longer meet the criteria for lawyers as stipulated in Article 10 of this Law;
- ...
- Do not join any Bar Association within two years from the date of being granted the Legal Practice Certificate.
Thus, the issue of revoking a lawyer's card depends on the time frame, here it is specified that within two years from the date of being granted the Legal Practice Certificate, if they do not join a Bar Association, their card will be revoked.
