How long are notary offices after having conducted notarial activities allowed to transfer in Vietnam? When a notary who receives a notary office in Vietnam, does he need to meet the number of years of practice in notarization?
Hello, I am an intern at a notary office in Go Vap district. Recently, I heard that my office is about to be transferred to another person because of a loss in business. I wonder if the law requires how long a notary office must operate notarial activities before it can be transferred? Please advise, thank you.

Article 29 of the Law on Notary 2014 provides for transfer of notary offices as follows:
1. A notary office may be transferred to other notaries who fully meet the conditions prescribed in Clause 2 of this Article. A notary office may be transferred only after it has conducted notarial activities for at least 2 years.
Notaries who have transferred their notary offices may not participate in the establishment of new notary offices within 5 years from the date of transfer.

According to current regulations in Vietnam, when a notary office needs to be transferred, it must operate for at least 2 years before it can be transferred according to regulations.

Article 29 of the Law on Notary 2014 stipulates a notary who receives a notary office must meet the following conditions:
2. A notary who receives a notary office must meet the following conditions:
a/ Having practiced notarization for at least 2 years, for persons expected to take over the position of head of the notary office;
b/ Undertaking to practice at the notary office transferred to him/her;
c/ Undertaking to inherit the rights and obligations of the transferred notary office.
3. Provincial-level People’s Committees shall consider and decide to permit the transfer of notary offices.
4. The Government shall stipulate in detail the order and procedures for transfer of notary offices.
According to this Article, a notary who receives a notary office needs to meet the conditions of having practiced notarization for at least 2 years, for persons expected to take over the position of head of the notary office. In addition, it is necessary to meet other conditions as prescribed in order to receive the transfer of a notary office in Vietnam.
