Duration of Document Retention for Certified Power of Attorney
Firstly, the notarization of the Power of Attorney is the procedure of signature authentication as stipulated.
Based on Clause 2, Article 14 of Decree 23/2015/ND-CP, the policies for storing documents of signature authentication are as follows:
For signature authentication and authentication of the translator's signature, the authorities or organizations performing the authentication must retain one copy of the authenticated document or text; the retention period is 02 (two) years. In the case of authenticating the signature of the appraiser in the forensic examination conclusion document and authenticating a copy from the original, storage is not required.
Thus, the policies for storing documents of signature authentication is 2 years; after two years, storage will not be conducted.
Therefore, the commune judicial officer has acted in conformity with the law.
