Providing Information That Promotes Superstitious Practices, Superstition, and Pseudoscience: What is the Penalty?
According to Point b, Clause 2, Article 20 of Decree 119/2020/ND-CP (Effective from December 1, 2020), it is stipulated as follows:
A fine ranging from VND 20,000,000 to VND 30,000,000 shall be imposed for the following act: Providing information that promotes superstitions, beliefs, or mystical stories that cause social panic, adversely affect social order, safety, and public health.
Thus, in the case where an organization provides information on a general electronic information page that promotes superstitions, beliefs, or mystical stories that adversely affect social order, safety, and public health, a fine of up to VND 30,000,000 may be imposed. This penalty applies to organizations (Clause 2, Article 4 of Decree 119/2020/ND-CP).
