Code of Conduct for Social Media Service Providers
Article 7 of the Code of Conduct on Social Media issued together with Decision 874/QD-BTTTT in 2021 stipulates the code of conduct for social media service providers as follows:
Clearly publish the terms of service, including all rights and obligations of the service provider and the users.
Issue and publicize measures to detect, notify, and cooperate with relevant authorities to handle, prevent, and remove content infringing on copyrights or violating the law.
Upon receiving notification requesting the removal of information infringing on copyrights or violating the law from competent authorities, the social media service provider shall cooperate with organizations and individuals using social media to address the issues in accordance with the laws of Vietnam.
Guide social media users and support and protect the rights and legitimate interests of the "vulnerable" in society (the poor, ethnic minorities, children, adolescents, the disabled, etc.) to use social media safely and healthily to avoid exploitation, abuse, or mental violence on social media; take measures to ensure the safety and healthy development of children and adolescents on social media as per the laws of Vietnam.
Respect users' right to protect their information, do not collect personal information or provide users' information to third parties without the consent of the information subjects.
