How many days is the National Funeral Ceremony held?

According to Clause 1a, Article 5 of Decree 105/2012/ND-CP, when the General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party passes away, a National Funeral is organized.

Article 10 of Decree 105/2012/ND-CP provides regulations on the duration and rituals of the mourning period as follows:

The duration for organizing the National Funeral is 02 (two) days. During this time, agencies and offices nationwide and representative offices of Vietnam abroad shall fly the flag at half-mast with a mourning ribbon (the ribbon size is 1/10 of the flag’s width, the length is equal to the flag's length, and the flag shall only be flown at 2/3 the height of the flagpole, with a black cloth tying the flag so it does not fly), and public entertainment and recreational activities shall not be organized.

Thus, the duration for organizing the National Funeral is 02 days.

During these 02 days, all public entertainment and recreational activities shall cease, and agencies and offices nationwide and representative offices of Vietnam abroad shall fly the flag at half-mast with a mourning ribbon.
