Method for Determining the Amount Paid by Households When the Health Insurance Contribution Rate and Statutory Pay Rate are Adjusted
At Clause 3, Article 10 of Decree 146/2018/ND-CP guiding the Law on Health Insurance, it is stipulated:
For the group of individuals participating in health insurance under the household category as stated in Article 5 of this Decree.
To be specific:
- Persons listed in the household registration book, except those who belong to categories specified in Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 of this Decree.
- Persons listed in the temporary residence book, except for individuals specified in Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 of this Decree and individuals who have participated in health insurance as stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article.
- The following individuals may participate in health insurance under the household form:
+ Dignitaries, religious workers, clerics;
+ Individuals living in social protection facilities, except for those specified in Articles 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 of this Decree, who do not receive state budget support for health insurance contributions.
The method for determining the amount a household pays when the state adjusts the health insurance contribution rate, statutory pay rate is as follows:
- The contribution amount of a participant per month is determined by the health insurance contribution rate multiplied (x) by the statutory pay rate at the time of health insurance contribution; (The current statutory pay rate: 1,390,000 VND, from July 01, 2019, the statutory pay rate will be 1,490,000 VND).
- When the State adjusts the health insurance contribution rate and statutory pay rate, participants do not have to pay the difference or receive reimbursement for the difference due to the adjustment of the health insurance contribution rate, statutory pay rate for the remaining time that the participant has already contributed to health insurance.
** Note: Participants joining on any days within a month shall have their health insurance contribution amount determined from the month of health insurance contribution.
