Can Low-Income Households Obtain Preferential Loans to Work Abroad?
Are Poor Households Eligible for Preferential Loans for Overseas Employment?
According to Clause 2, Article 20 of the 2013 Employment Law, employees who belong to ethnic minorities, poor households, near-poor households, or households whose agricultural land has been expropriated, as well as relatives of those who have rendered meritorious services to the revolution and wish to work abroad under a contract, are supported by the State as follows:
a) Vocational training, foreign language training; learning about Vietnam’s customs, laws, and the regulations of the host country;
b) Training and enhancing vocational skills to meet the demands of the host country;
c) Obtaining loans at preferential interest rates.
Thus, according to the above regulation, individuals belonging to poor households are supported by the State to obtain loans at preferential interest rates to work abroad under a contract.
Loan Amounts for Poor Households Working Abroad
According to Article 35 of Decree 61/2015/ND-CP, amended by Clause 12 Article 1 of Decree 74/2019/ND-CP, the regulations for preferential loans for employees working abroad under a contract are as follows:
The maximum loan amount is 100% of the costs required to work abroad as per the contract signed between the employee and the service enterprise or organization sending the employee to work abroad under the contract.
You will be provided by the State with a loan covering up to 100% of the costs to work abroad as per the contract signed between you and the enterprise sending you to work abroad.
