What are the guidelines for writing use instructions for a common item for 4th-grade students in Vietnam?
Students may refer to the sample use instructions for a common item for 4th-grade students in Vietnam:
Sample 1: Instructions on Using a Fountain Pen
Step 1: Inspect the pen before use Before using a fountain pen, it's important to inspect the pen to ensure it is working properly. First, you need to open the pen cap and check the ink cartridge inside. If the pen is out of ink, you need to either replace the ink or refill it. To replace the ink, open the pen body and remove the old cartridge. Then, insert new ink into the cartridge or replace it with another ink cartridge and screw it tightly back. After replacing the ink, check if the ink is leaking. If not, the pen is ready to use. Step 2: Hold the pen correctly Properly holding the pen will help you write beautifully and comfortably. To hold a fountain pen, use your thumb, index finger, and middle finger to grip the pen. The thumb and index finger hold the body of the pen, while the middle finger supports underneath to keep the pen steady. Be careful not to grip too tightly as it will cause fatigue and affect writing. Ensure the pen is held at about a 45-degree angle to the paper so the ink flows evenly and doesn't smear. Step 3: Writing with the fountain pen When writing with a fountain pen, do not press down hard on the paper as it can damage the nib or cause ink to spill out. Write gently, carefully, and evenly. If you write too quickly or too firmly, the ink may overflow, making your writing untidy. You also need to adjust the writing direction to suit your style, writing from left to right and top to bottom to easily control the nib. Step 4: Review after writing After writing, you need to review your work. Check for blurred words, spelling mistakes, or ink smudges. If any, you can gently use an eraser to correct errors without damaging the paper. Once checked, let the writing dry a little to prevent ink from smearing onto other sections. Step 5: Maintain the fountain pen When not using the fountain pen, cap it to prevent the nib from drying out. Additionally, store the pen in a pen case or a dry place to avoid damage. If you frequently use a fountain pen, regularly check the ink and nib to ensure they are always ready for studying. |
Sample 2: Instructions on Using a School Bag
Step 1: Choose a suitable school bag Before using a school bag, select one that fits your body size and learning needs. The bag should be moderately sized, not too large or too small, to hold all necessary books and study materials. Additionally, the bag must have sturdy shoulder straps for easy carrying to school without causing shoulder pain. Step 2: Arrange books and study materials For efficient use of the school bag, arrange books and study materials neatly and methodically. Books should be organized by subject for easy access when needed. Study items like pens, rulers, and erasers can be placed in small compartments or pencil cases to avoid mixing. Ensure not to let items be too disordered as it will make searching difficult and overload the bag. Step 3: Adjust the shoulder straps properly When wearing the bag, adjust the shoulder straps to fit the body. Straps should be adjusted so their length suits your height, avoiding straps being too short or too long. Wearing the bag correctly will prevent shoulder strain and protect your health. You can wear it on one shoulder or cross-body to reduce pressure on the body. Step 4: Carry the school bag properly When carrying the school bag, ensure it is not too heavy as this can affect your health, especially the spine. Ensure that the bag is balanced over both shoulders, avoiding carrying it on just one shoulder for too long. If the bag feels too heavy, reduce non-essential items. Step 5: Maintain the school bag When not using the school bag, store it in a dry and clean place. Do not let the bag get wet or expose it to direct sunlight for too long, as this will reduce the quality of the fabric and leather. If the bag gets dirty, use a soft cloth to clean it instead of washing it directly. |
Sample 3: Instructions on Using a Ruler
Step 1: Inspect the ruler Before using a ruler, check if it is bent or damaged. If the ruler is bent, try gently straightening it or replace it with a new one. The ruler should have a suitable length for drawing straight lines in your books. Step 2: Place the ruler on the paper To draw a straight line, place the ruler so its edge aligns with the section you want to draw. Ensure the ruler is flat and not misaligned for accurate straight lines. If drawing parallel lines, move the ruler carefully and keep its edge aligned. Step 3: Use a pen to draw the line When drawing lines, use a pencil or light pen, avoiding pressing too hard to prevent smudging or moving the ruler. You can draw multiple straight lines consecutively without moving the ruler too much, just slightly change positions. Step 4: Review the straight line After drawing, review the line to ensure no errors. If it is misaligned or unattractive, use an eraser to correct it. If using ink, ensure it does not smear. Step 5: Maintain the ruler After use, store the ruler properly. Place it in a case or storage to avoid scratches or damage. If made of wood, avoid getting it wet to prevent rot. Plastic or metal rulers should be kept from strong impacts to protect durability. |
Sample 4: Instructions on Using an Exercise Book
Step 1: Select a suitable exercise book Before starting to study, choose an exercise book suited to the subject. Exercise books can be categorized by subject, such as math, Vietnamese, and spelling. Choose one with the right size and enough pages for the lessons and exercises. Step 2: Write information on the book cover When you open the book, write necessary information on the cover like subject title, your name, and date for easy future reference. This helps differentiate between different subject exercise books. Step 3: Do exercises in the book When completing exercises, read each requirement carefully. For math, do calculations carefully to avoid mistakes. In writing, write neatly and legibly, using a pencil for easy corrections if needed. After completion, review your work to verify results. Step 4: Check and correct mistakes After completing exercises, review your answers for mistakes. If errors are found, correct them using an eraser or rewrite them. |
Sample 5: Instructions on Using a Pencil Case
Step 1: Choose a suitable pencil case First, choose a pencil case that fits your usage needs. Pencil cases come in various sizes, so select one that has enough space for your study tools but is not too large for easy carrying. The pencil case can be plastic, metal, or fabric and should have a lid to protect pens and contents from getting lost or dirty. You can also choose a pencil case with multiple compartments for organizing items like pens, rulers, and erasers. Step 2: Arrange study tools in the pencil case Once you have a pencil case, the next step is to neatly arrange study tools for easy access when needed. Items like pencils, pens, and markers should be placed in separate compartments to prevent mixing. If the case has smaller sections, use them for smaller items like erasers, rulers, or sticky notes. Carry a small box for clips or paper notes if necessary. Arrange items for easy access and neat placement to avoid wasting time when needed. Step 3: Use pens and items from the pencil case When studying, use items from the pencil case for assignments or writing. Choose the appropriate pen type for each task. For math, use a pencil for easy error correction, while for spelling or essays, use ink pens for clear and neat writing. When using a ruler to draw lines, take it from the pencil case carefully to avoid bending or damaging it. After use, place pens and items back neatly in the case. Step 4: Maintain the pencil case After using, properly maintain the pencil case to protect the items inside. Close the lid after use to prevent items from falling out. If the case is detachable or has compartments, clean or wipe off any dirt. For durability, keep the case dry and avoid sharp objects from tearing it. If it gets dirty, clean it with a damp cloth. Step 5: Replace and replenish items in the pencil case After a period of use, you may notice some items in the pencil case are out of ink, broken, or damaged. Replace or replenish with new items to keep the case full and convenient. For instance, change ink or pens when they run out of ink. Replace erasers when worn out for long-term use. If the case is old or damaged, replace it to ensure study tools are well-maintained. |
