What is the enrollment plan for 6th grade and 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year in Quang Nam Province?

On February 18, 2025, the Department of Education and Training of Quang Nam Province issued the enrollment plan for 6th grade and 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year here. The enrollment plan for 6th grade and 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year in Quang Nam Province specifies the principles of enrollment as follows:

- Ensure safety, objectivity, fairness, and integrity.

- Ensure the fulfillment of the junior secondary education universalization task.

- Ensure the goal of comprehensive education in the basic education phase.

Regarding the enrollment methods:

- Enrollment to 6th grade:

+ Enrollment to 6th grade in non-specialized lower secondary schools will be conducted by admission.

+ Enrollment to 6th grade in boarding ethnic secondary schools in districts will be based on reviewing performance in year-end periodic assessment scores in Mathematics and Vietnamese.

+ Enrollment to grade 9 in boarding ethnic secondary schools with lower and upper secondary levels in Bac Tra My, Nam Tra My, and Phuoc Son districts:

++ Admission based on the results of training and learning over 3 years in lower secondary education (Grades 6, 7, and 8).

​++ Direct admission to boarding ethnic secondary schools for subjects stipulated under Clause 2, Article 11 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of boarding ethnic secondary schools (issued with Circular No. 04/2023/TT-BGDDT).

- Enrollment to 10th grade in Quang Nam Province:

+ For public non-specialized upper secondary schools, a combination of entrance exams and admission based on students’ training and learning over 4 years in lower secondary education.

Where: the maximum total score for the 3 exam subjects is 30 points, with each subject having a maximum of 10 points; the maximum total score for training and learning over 4 years in lower secondary education is 10 points, with each year (Grades 6, 7, 8, 9) having a maximum of 2.50 points.

+ For specialized upper secondary schools and boarding ethnic secondary schools with the upper secondary level in Quang Nam Province: Entrance exams only.

Who is eligible for direct admission to 10th grade in Vietnam?

According to Clause 1, Article 7 of the Regulation issued with Circular No. 11/2014/TT-BGDDT (amended by Circular No. 05/2018/TT-BGDDT), students eligible for direct admission to 10th grade in Vietnam include:

- Students of boarding ethnic secondary schools;

- Students belonging to very small ethnic minorities;

- Disabled students;

- Students who win national and international awards in culture, arts, sports; and the national science and technology contest for lower and upper secondary school students.

Who is entitled to priority points in admission to 10th grade in Vietnam?

Under Clause 2, Article 7 of the Regulations on enrollment for lower and upper secondary education issued with Circular 11/2014/TT-BGDDT as amended by Clause 4, Article 1 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT and Article 2 of Circular 05/2018/TT-BGDDT, the persons entitled to priority points in the admission to 10th grade in Vietnam are as follows:

(1) Group 1:

- Children of martyrs;

- Children of invalids with 81% or more labor loss;

- Children of diseased soldiers with 81% or more labor loss;

- Children of those certified “as receiving policies for wounded soldiers with 81% or more reduced labor capability”.

- Children of those engaged in combat operations affected by toxic chemicals;

- Children of revolutionaries before January 1, 1945;

- Children of revolutionaries from January 1, 1945, to the August Revolution of 1945.

(2) Group 2:

- Children of heroes of the armed forces, children of labor heroes, children of Vietnamese heroic mothers;

- Children of invalids with less than 81% labor loss;

- Children of diseased soldiers with less than 81% labor loss;

- Children certified “as receiving policies for wounded soldiers with less than 81% reduced labor capability”.

(3) Group 3:

- Individuals whose parents are ethnic minorities;

- Ethnic minority individuals;

- Students living and studying in regions with particularly difficult socio-economic conditions.
