The second Vietnam International Defense Exhibition will take place over four days, from Thursday, December 19 to Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Gia Lam Airport area (Hanoi). This event is part of the activities celebrating the 80th Anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - December 22, 2024) and the 35th Anniversary of the National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - December 22, 2024).

With the theme "Vietnam-peace, cooperation, development," the program is expected to include four performances, opening with "Tre Viet Nam" performed by 500 soldiers in combination with 165 soldiers drumming, and 200 soldiers performing with festival flags.

Unusually, there are no age restrictions on visitors and the opening hours are extended, giving the public the opportunity to admire the achievements of Vietnam's and the world's defense industry.

The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation, defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and other countries worldwide; share policies and defense foreign affairs directions; and the policy of building the army and developing the defense industry.

The public will have free admission to visit the exhibition from 1:30 PM on December 21 to the end of December 22, 2024.

According to the regulations, students at all levels will have days off according to the schedule of their teachers at each level.

Based on Article 112 of the Labor Code 2019:

Public holidays:

1. Employees are entitled to fully paid days off during the following public holidays:

a) New Year’s Day: 1 day (January 1);

b) Lunar New Year: 5 days;

c) Victory Day: 1 day (April 30);

d) International Labor Day: 1 day (May 1);

e) National Day: 2 days (September 2 and 1 consecutive day before or after);

f) Hung Kings' Commemoration Day: 1 day (March 10, Lunar calendar).

2. Foreign employees working in Vietnam, in addition to the holidays stipulated in Clause 1 of this Article, are entitled to 1 traditional holiday of their home country and 1 National Day of their country.

3. Annually, based on actual conditions, the Prime Minister the Government of Vietnam decides the specific days off mentioned in Point b and Point e, Clause 1 of this Article.

Therefore, according to the regulations, the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 is not considered a major public holiday, so students at all levels continue to attend school as per the school schedule.

However, if the event occurs during the students' break from December 19, 2024, to December 22, 2024, they will have the opportunity to visit.

Based on Article 29 of the Education Law 2019 on the general objectives in educating students at all levels:

- High school education aims to equip students with civic knowledge; ensuring students can consolidate and develop secondary education results, complete general education knowledge, have common understanding of technology and career orientation; providing conditions to develop individual abilities to choose development direction, continue higher education, vocational education or join the workforce, building and defending the country.
