Based on Article 18 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT, the regulations on transferring schools for students in specialized schools are as follows:
- The transfer of students from specialized schools to regular high schools is carried out according to the regulations on transferring and accepting students in secondary and high schools set by the Ministry of Education and Training.
- The transfer of students from one specialized school to another specialized school is carried out according to the regulations on transferring and accepting students in secondary and high schools set by the Ministry of Education and Training, and includes the following additional requirements:
+ If the specialized school from which the student is transferring and the specialized school to which the student is transferring have organized admissions using a common exam (same exam questions, same exam session), the condition for transferring is that the student must meet the admission criteria of the specialized school to which they are transferring.
+ If the specialized school from which the student is transferring and the specialized school to which the student is transferring have not organized admissions using a common exam (same exam questions, same exam session) or have organized admissions using a common exam but the student does not meet the admission criteria of the specialized school to which they are transferring, the student must take and pass the supplementary entrance exam of the specialized school they wish to transfer to as stipulated in Article 19 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT.

What are rights of students in specialized schools in Vietnam?
Based on Article 16 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT, in addition to the duties and rights of students as stipulated in the Charter of secondary schools, high schools, and multi-level schools, students in specialized schools have the following duties and rights:
- Actively participate in exams, competitions, cultural, social activities, and scientific research as required by the school.
- Students who show early intellectual development may advance to a higher grade based on the decision of the specialized school's managing authority.
- Provided with accommodation facilities when needed; entitled to preferential policies as stipulated for students in specialized schools.
- Former students of specialized schools are encouraged to participate in school activities.

Based on Clause 2, Article 6 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT, the regulations are as follows:
Incentive policies for management staff, teachers, staff, and students
- Management staff, teachers, and staff at specialized schools are entitled to preferential policies according to the regulations of the Government of Vietnam.
The provincial People's Committee (for specialized schools under the province), higher education institutions (for specialized schools under higher education institutions) based on legal regulations, propose to the competent authorities to decide or decide on additional preferential policies and rewards for management staff, teachers, and staff at specialized schools with outstanding performance as assigned.

- Direct admission, priority admission to domestic higher education institutions, and sending students to study at higher education institutions abroad for students in specialized schools are carried out according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
Thus, the State's preferential policy for specialized school students is to award scholarships to encourage learning and reward students who win prizes in competitions for excellent students in cultural subjects; national and international science and technology competitions.
How many students are in each class in a specialized school in Vietnam?
Based on Article 8 of the Regulation on the organization and operation of specialized high schools issued together with Circular 05/2023/TT-BGDDT, the regulations on classes in specialized schools are as follows:
Classes in specialized schools
Classes in specialized schools are organized according to subjects in the general education program issued by the Minister of Education and Training, including: Literature, History, Geography, Foreign Languages, Mathematics, Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology (collectively known as specialized classes).
Non-specialized classes are not organized in specialized schools.
3. Each specialized class has no more than 35 students.
- Based on the conditions ensuring the quality of education and the proposal of the principal of the specialized school, the managing agency of the specialized school decides on the subjects to be organized into specialized classes (specialized subjects) and the number of specialized classes for each specialized subject.
Thus, each class in a specialized school has no more than 35 students.
