The Vietnam International Defence Expo 2024 is an important event marking the development of the domestic defense industry and international cooperation in this field. This event is not only a showcase for modern weapons and equipment but also a forum for experts and businesses, both domestic and international, to exchange and cooperate.

Highlights of the exhibition:

The exhibition is a key activity, creating a highlight with international significance, organized concurrently with activities and events on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the All-People's Defense Day.

The exhibition aims to strengthen and expand international cooperation, defense diplomacy, build trust between Vietnam and countries around the world; share policies, defense diplomacy guidelines; and the policy of building the Army and developing the defense industry.

It provides opportunities for countries, companies, and enterprises, both domestic and international, to introduce, display products, and seek opportunities to expand cooperation. At the same time, it enhances international cooperation on the defense industry, diversifies cooperation channels for procurement, reception, and transfer of technology to produce technical equipment and logistics to meet the needs of the armed forces.

Explore the development trends of weapons and technical equipment worldwide to propose, select procurement, production, improvement of weapons and equipment for the Army; promote and publicize the capacities and potential of technology, weapons, and equipment produced by the Vietnamese defense industry to international friends and domestic public; and seek export opportunities for defense industry products.

As for international guests, as of now, 42 official delegations have registered to visit Vietnam and attend the exhibition. At the exhibition, domestic and international defense enterprises will showcase and introduce combat vehicles, technological solutions, weapons, and equipment used for the Navy, Army, Air Defense-Air Force, cyber warfare, and logistics and technical support equipment. The Vietnamese products displayed at the exhibition include those researched and manufactured by agencies and units of the Ministry of National Defense and commercial and service companies of the Ministry of National Defense.

The exhibition area has a total area of more than 100,000 m² with indoor display space of 15,000 m² and outdoor space exceeding 20,000 m². To date, nearly 200 units and enterprises from 27 countries have registered for booths at the exhibition. The indoor display scale is double that of the 2022 exhibition.

In the 4-day event, aside from the activities at the Exhibition Opening Ceremony (Vietnam Air Force fly-over salute, performances by the Vietnam People's Army Special Task Force, and Border Guard Dogs of Vietnam People's Army), there will be many activities such as seminars, signings, exchanges, and meetings between delegations and partners on the sidelines of the exhibition. Additionally, the organizers will arrange exhibition areas to introduce the culture, country, people, and Vietnam People's Army; and organize performances of art programs at the exhibition venue.

The public can visit the exhibition from 1 PM on December 21 to the end of December 22.
