On August 27, 2024, the Information and Education Programs Center under the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City issued Notification 30/TTTT-CTGD in 2024 (download here) regarding the schedule of Training on methods of organizing STEM education activities in educational institutions in September 2024.

Specifically, the STEM education training schedule in Ho Chi Minh City in September 2024 is as follows:

- STEM Teaching Method Class: September 14, 2024

- Organizing STEM Robotic Teaching Class: September 15, 2024

- Automation with Arduino Control Microchip Class: September 28, 2024

The address for the training is at the Division of Education and Training of Thu Duc City, 04 Nguyen Cong Tru, Binh Tho Ward, Thu Duc City, Ho Chi Minh City.

SESSION 2 GUIDANCE ON DEVELOPING STEM LESSON PLANS

1. Develop ideas and STEM lesson plans

- Choose suitable STEM topics for grade levels and subjects

- Develop ideas for STEM lessons

2. Set specific goals for lessons

- Set specific and measurable objectives for STEM lessons with selected ideas;

3. Develop detailed lesson plan framework

- Practice applying AI in supporting the development of STEM lesson plans:

+Search and develop creative lesson ideas;

+Draft content for learning activities;

+Design evaluation questions.

+Through analysis and adjustment, complete ideas and lesson plans based on real-life prototype manufacturing experience.

- Teachers perform:

+Create automated STEM model products from ideas.

+Record and photograph products.

+Prepare STEM automation lesson plans and worksheets if any.

Teachers practice at the center, provided with electronic components, basic tools, and supplies for products as per the given list (teachers can purchase additional materials outside the provided list if needed).
SESSION 4 1. Presentation of STEM Lesson Plans

-2-3 representative groups present detailed ideas and lesson plans (20 minutes/group)

-Comments and feedback from the professional board and other groups

2. Summarize key knowledge

-Summarize the method of designing complete STEM lesson plans, tied to the 2018 general education theme;

-Analyze and share experiences in preparing and implementing STEM lessons in reality.

3. Program summary

-Teachers complete a survey form about the training program

-Program summary.
SESSION 5 2 DAYS OF PRACTICE & PROJECT PRESENTATION AT KDI TRAINING CENTER
SESSION 06-07 PRACTICING PRODUCT CREATION & DEVELOPING STEM PROJECT LESSONS

- Teachers register for practice sessions at the STEM center in 03 sessions to perform:

+Create STEM model products from ideas.

+Record and photograph products.

+Prepare slides and teaching materials and presentations for the lesson.

Teacher groups register for practice schedules at the center, provided with basic tools and supplies for products as per the given list (teachers can purchase additional materials outside the provided list if needed).

- Teachers organize recording presentations about STEM products and lessons of the group and submit them to the BTC.
SESSION 8 PRODUCT PRESENTATION & STEM LESSON PLAN

- Groups present their topics, products by group and compiled lesson plan ideas.

- Peer review from listening groups & feedback and lecturers.

*Depending on the number of groups, the BTC will schedule presentation sessions suitable for the duration and number of groups presenting each session.
SESSION 9 SUMMARY

+ Visit and display group products.

+ Summarize real-life experiences in preparing lessons and implementing lessons in reality:

+Summarize key knowledge:

+STEM education methods in schools.

+Process of implementing STEM lessons: Design a complete STEM lesson plan, tied to themes in the 2018 general education. Guide on how to complete the program's final requirements.

+Sharing, discussing, answering questions

+ Teachers complete a survey form about the training program
