Article 16 of the Law on Military Service 2015 provides regulations on the initial registration for military service:
Initial registration for military service
1. In every January, Presidents of People’s Committees of communes, heads or legal representatives of agencies/organizations report to Military Commands of districts the List of male citizens who turn 17 years old and male citizens subject to military service that have not registered for military service.
2. In every April, Military Commander of districts shall send the call-up papers to citizens specified in clause 1 of this Article to perform initial registration for military service.
3. Citizens shall perform initial registration for military service at military service registration receiving agencies specified in Article 15 of this Law.
All male citizens who turn 17 must register for military service.
When is the time for conscription in 2025 in Vietnam?
Guidance 4705/HD-BQP of 2024 stipulates as follows:
Implementing the Law on Military Service dated June 19, 2015; Decision No. 102/QD-TTg dated September 20, 2024, of the Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam on conscripting citizens for enlistment in 2025; specifically, in 2025, selecting and enlisting citizens (collectively referred to as recruitment) will be conducted in one round; the handover period will be from February 13 to the end of February 15, 2025 (from January 16 to the end of January 18 in the Year of the Snake).
Thus, the time for conscription in 2025 in Vietnam is from February 13 to the end of February 15, 2025 (from January 16 to the end of January 18 in the Year of the Snake).
