Which types of paragraphs will 2nd-grade students in Vietnam learn to write?
Under Article 5 of the general education program for Literature attached to Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, 2nd-grade students will learn to write the following types of paragraphs:
- Paragraph narrating an event
- Short descriptive paragraph, simple according to suggestions
- Paragraph expressing emotions about loved ones
- Paragraph introducing an animal, object; texts guiding an activity, postcard, list, book index, timetable, schedule
What are the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese Language subject?
According to Subsection 2 Section 3 of the general education program for Literature promulgated together with Circular 32/2018/TT-BGDDT, the objectives of teaching the 2nd-grade Vietnamese Language subject are as follows:
- Help students form and develop essential qualities with specific manifestations: love for nature, family, and homeland; consciousness of one's roots; appreciation for beauty and goodness with healthy emotions; enthusiasm for learning and working; honesty and straightforwardness in study and life; a sense of responsibility toward oneself, family, society, and the surrounding environment.
- Help students initially form general competencies, and develop language skills in all basic skills: reading, writing, speaking, and listening with fundamental proficiency: reading texts correctly and fluently; understanding the content and main information of the text; making extra-textual connections and comparisons; spelling and grammatical correctness in writing; ability to write certain sentences, paragraphs, short essays (mainly narrative and descriptive essays); clear articulation in speech; comprehension of the speaker's message.
Develop literary competence with requirements to distinguish between poetry and stories, know how to read poetry and stories; recognize the beauty of artistic language; possess imagination, understanding, and appreciation for beauty, goodness of humanity, and the surrounding world as conveyed in literary texts.
