The Minister of Health of Vietnam issues Circular 10/2024/TT-BYT dated June 13, 2024, on the list of infectious diseases, subjects, and scope required to use mandatory vaccines and medical biologics.

1. For people who have not been vaccinated, have not received 3 doses of vaccines containing tetanus in the basic dose (**), or have unknown vaccination history: - 1st injection: early injection during pregnancy; - Second injection: at least 1 month after the 1st injection: - 3rd injection: during next pregnancy and at least 6 months after 2nd injection; - 4th injection: next pregnancy and at least 01 year after 3rd injection; - 5th injection: next pregnancy and at least 1 year after 4th injection. 2. For people who have received 3 doses of basic tetanus-containing vaccines: - 1st injection: early injection during pregnancy; - Second injection: at least 01 month after the 1st injection; - 3rd injection: during next pregnancy and at least 1 year after 2nd injection. 3. For people who have received 3 doses of tetanus-containing vaccine, including a basic dose and 1 booster dose: - 1st injection: early injection during pregnancy; - Second injection: during next pregnancy and at least 1 year after the 1st injection. 4. For people who have received 3 doses of tetanus-containing vaccines, including the basic dose and 2 booster doses: Get 1 injection early when pregnant. In all cases, the second and subsequent injections should be given at least 2 weeks before the expected date of birth. |

(*) The interval between each vaccination dose of 1 month is calculated at least as 28 days.
(**) The basic dose includes doses administered before the child is 1 year old.
If vaccinations are not administered according to the schedule or not administered in full doses, compensation should be done as soon as possible, ensuring compliance with the subject as guided by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam and the manufacturer.
Campaign vaccinations or supplementary vaccinations will be carried out as directed by the Ministry of Health of Vietnam in each specific case.

Circular 38/2017/TT-BYT will be invalidated from the effective date of Circular 10/2024/TT-BYT.
