Vietnam Strives for GDP Growth of 6.8% in 2018

This is the focal task stated in Directive No. 29/CT-TTg dated July 05, 2017, regarding the development of the socio-economic development plan and the state budget estimate for the year 2018.

The Prime Minister of the Government of Vietnam has set many orientations and tasks for socio-economic development in 2018 as follows:

- Strive to achieve GDP growth rate of about 6.4 - 6.8% in 2018;- Manage interest rates and exchange rates in accordance with macroeconomic and monetary developments;- Promote the restructuring of the economy and implement three breakthroughs in the socio-economic development strategy for 2011 - 2020;- Develop and promulgate a specific plan and roadmap for restructuring the agricultural sector for the period 2017 - 2020;- Develop guiding documents for the Law on Supporting Small and Medium Enterprises, focusing on supporting enterprises with development potential, aiming for the goal of having 1 million production and business enterprises by 2020.
