By 2050, the average GDP per capita will reach 27,000 to 32,000 USD

The XV National Assembly passed Resolution 81/2023/QH15 on January 09, 2023, regarding the National Master Plan for the period of 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050.

The vision to 2050 according to the national master plan is stipulated as follows:

- In the period of 2031 - 2050, strive for an average annual GDP growth rate of approximately 6.5 - 7.5%.

By 2050, the per capita GDP at current prices will reach approximately USD 27,000 - 32,000, the urbanization rate will reach 70 - 75%, the Human Development Index (HDI) will reach 0.8 or higher, the people's lives will be happy, and national defense and security will be firmly ensured.

Additionally, the Resolution also aims for the following objectives by 2050:

– The urban system will be linked into a unified and synchronous network, capable of resisting and adapting to climate change, with characteristic and rich architecture, green, civilized, modern, and smart.

Construct at least 5 internationally comparable cities, serving as hubs connecting and developing with regional and international urban networks.

- Modern rural areas with living conditions approaching those of urban areas, a green, clean, and beautiful living environment rich in national cultural identity.

- A high-quality environment, a society harmonious with nature, efficiently developed towards low-carbon;

Strive to achieve the national net zero emissions target as quickly as possible by 2050.
