1. Regulations on organizing university registration and admission for additional rounds in Vietnam

Regulations on the organization of registration and University admission for additional rounds are guided by Article 22 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- Based on the admission quota and the number of admitted candidates who have confirmed enrollment in the programs, the admission council of the training institution reviews and decides on the admission for supplementary courses.

The training institution publicizes the admission plan, admission methods, and registration methods for supplementary admissions; admission conditions for each field and training program under each admission method that are not lower than those of the previous admission round.

- Candidates who have not been admitted or have been admitted but have not confirmed enrollment anywhere can register for supplementary admissions according to the institution's plan and guidance.

- After each admission round, the training institution announces on their website the admission scores (and any additional conditions and criteria if applicable) for the programs and training methods; organizes for candidates to check their admission results; sends admission letters and guidelines for admitted candidates to enroll.

2. Time for notification of additional university admission in Vietnam 2024

According to the Implementation Plan for University Admissions and Preschool Education College Admissions for 2024 attached with Decision 1139/QD-BGDDT dated April 15, 2024, the Time for notification of additional university admission in Vietnam 2024 is from August 28, 2024.

3. Regulations on deferral of University admission in Vietnam

Regulations on the retention of university admission results are guided by Article 10 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- Candidates who have received admission letters can retain their admission results in the following cases:

+  Military  service  or  youth  volunteer  deployment  immediately  in  the  year  of  admission  according  to  the  decision  or  order  of  a  competent  authority;

+  Severe  illness  or  serious  accident  preventing  timely  enrollment,  with  medical  records  and  confirmation  from  a  competent  health  authority.

- Candidates covered in clause 1 of Article 10 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT must submit a retention request along with supporting documents to the enrolling institution. The maximum retention period is specified by the training institution but not less than 3 years for those mentioned in point a of clause 1 of Article 10 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT.

- Immediately after meeting the conditions to return to study, individuals retaining their admission results must complete the enrollment procedures as specified by the training institution, including providing proof of completing their duties or receiving medical treatment. For cases specified in clause 1 of Article 10 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT with retention periods of 3 years or longer, the training institution will consider introducing preparatory university courses for review before official enrollment.

4. Regulations on university admission Registration on the System According to the General Plan in Vietnam

Regulations on university admission registration on the system according to the general plan are guided by Article 19 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT as follows:

- The Ministry of Education and Training supports organizing registration for the first round of full-time training for all admission methods of training institutions. The registration period begins after the high school graduation exam and ends after the results of the exam and high school graduation assessment are available.

- Candidates for the first round of full-time training (including those who have participated in early admission plans of training institutions) register on the system (via the Ministry's Admission Portal or the National Public Service Portal) according to the general plan and instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training.

- Candidates can register preferences for multiple fields and multiple schools with no quantity limit but must arrange their preferences in priority order from highest to lowest. If multiple preferences meet admission conditions, candidates will only be recognized for admission and called for enrollment for the highest priority preference.

- Candidates express their preferences through choices on the admission support system (as per the instructions of the Ministry of Education and Training) as follows:

+  Priority  order  of  preferences  (Number  1  represents  the  highest  preference);

+  Choice  of  training  institution,  admission  unit  (institution  code);

+  Choice  of  field,  group  of  fields,  training  program  (field  code);

+  Choice  of  admission  method  (method  code);

+  Choice  of  admission  combination  (combination  code)  for  admission  methods  based  on  exam  results  by  exam  subjects  or  subjects,  or  those  based  on  high  school  course  outcomes.

- Candidates registering for schools under the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam  shall comply with the regulations in Article 19 of the Regulation attached with Circular 08/2022/TT-BGDDT and regulations, guidelines of the Ministry of National Defense, Ministry of Public Security.
