This is the content of Official Dispatch No. 1515/BGDDT-QLCL dated April 7, 2023 guiding the organization of the high school graduation exam in 2023 promulgated by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam

Official high school graduation exam schedule 2023 in Vietnam

According to the Official Dispatch, the official high school graduation exam schedule 2023 is as follows:

- June 28, 2023: Literature exam in the morning, Mathematics exam in the afternoon;

- June 29, 2023:

+ Morning: Science and Nature Exam (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology); Science and Society Exam (History, Geography, and Citizenship Education);

+ Afternoon: Foreign Language Exam.

Deadline for high school graduation exam registration in 2023

Deadline for high school graduation exam registration in 2023:

- From May 4, 2023 to 5 pm May 13, 2023:

+ Candidates who are 12th-grade students of the 2022-2023 academic year shall apply for the exam directly or via online methods;

+ Private candidates shall apply for the exam directly; exam registration units shall collect exam registration dossiers and copies of citizen ID cards and enter candidates’ data into the Exam Management System (candidates may submit stamped envelopes stating the addresses and information on recipients if necessary).

+ After entering exam registration data on the Exam Management System, exam registration units shall print out candidates’ information on exam registration from the Exam Management System and assign head teachers or assigned persons to instruct students to review and sign the printings for verification.

- By 5 pm May 13, 2023, exam registration units shall finish entering exam registration dossiers for private candidates. Departments of Education and Training shall finish reviewing reserved scores of candidates and editing errors in exam registration dossiers (if any) by May 9, 2023.


- By May 22, 2023, exam registration units shall finish printing exam registration applications, No. 1 exam registration applications, and No. 2 exam registration applications of candidates who are 12th-grade students of the 2022-2023 academic year; sign and stamp on the printed exam registration applications; archive the No. 1 exam registration applications; hand over the No. 2 exam registration applications to candidates.

- By June 6, 2023, exam registration units shall finish the following tasks:

+ Collect applications for recognition of high school graduation, dossiers on high school graduation recognition, and dossiers on prioritization in university and college admission; enter data on high school graduation recognition consideration and data on prioritization in university and college admission of candidates into the Exam Management System.  

After entering data, print out candidates’ information from the Exam Management system and assign head teachers or assigned persons to instruct students to review and sign the printings for verification.

+ Inspect exam registration dossiers and documents related to the exam, consider exam participation conditions of each candidate, confirm the candidate’s eligibility, and decide that candidates cannot take the exam in case of unsatisfied conditions and invalid dossiers while providing direct notifications for candidates.

After the mentioned tasks, print out the list of candidates following the alphabet order of the candidates’ names by their class/school for candidates who are 12th-grade students of the 2022-2023 academic year and by candidates for private candidates.

- Departments of Education and Training and general schools shall provide guidelines for students who have citizen ID cards, personal identification numbers, or passport numbers before registering for the exam. If private candidates do not have citizen ID cards, personal identification numbers, passport numbers, and identification numbers, the Exam Management System shall provide a 12-character code for each candidate for management.  

Candidates wishing to apply for university or college admission shall provide their phone numbers and email addresses when applying for the exam. Attention: Candidates who have applied for the pre-qualification shall use a uniform citizen ID card, personal identification number, or passport number when applying for the exam, pre-qualification, and university and college admission.

- During the exam registration period, candidates who wish to apply for university or college admission shall adequately and correctly declare information enclosed with evidence according to regulations and guidelines prescribed in Appendix XVII on the software for prioritization in university and college admission.

- Dossiers and certificates of prioritization or encouragement related to high school graduation recognition consideration shall be submitted to exam registration units by May 31, 2023.  

Exam registration units shall review and look up the information provided by the National Database on Population (on the Exam Management System) to confirm prioritization by permanent residence for candidates.

- Exam registration units shall preserve No. 1 exam registration applications, applications for high school graduation recognition consideration, enclosed dossiers on high school graduation recognition consideration, lists of candidates for timely presentation for inspection, high school graduation recognition consideration, and requests for amendments (if any);

Exam registration lists and exam registration applications shall be handed over to Departments of Education and Training regarding candidates who are 12th-grade students of the 2022-2023 academic year or exam registration dossier bag (with copies of citizen ID cards, personal identification numbers, and passport numbers) regarding private candidates.
