Provisions on Maintenance and Servicing of Equipment and Tools for Demolition in Fire Prevention and Fighting

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security has issued Circular 52/2014/TT-BCA on the management, preservation, and maintenance of fire prevention and fighting equipment.

Circular 52/2014/TT-BCA stipulates the storage and maintenance of vehicles and demolition tools in fire prevention and fighting as follows:

Regular Storage and Maintenance

  1. Arrange and clean vehicles and tools.

  2. Check the fuel level of hydraulic pumps and the hydraulic oil level in the reservoir. Refill if necessary.

  3. Detect defects in cutting blades, saws, and other details of the generator.

  4. Inspect and clean various parts of the cutting machine, specifically: Air choke; fuel filter, spark plugs, cooling fins on the cylinder, muffler, tension of drive belts; cutting blades and gearboxes; cutting blade guards; starter units, starter cords, and outside of the air intake; nuts and bolts, stop switches; fuel tank caps and welds.

Post-Firefighting and Fire Drill Storage and Maintenance

  1. After firefighting or fire drills, cutting machines, jacks, spreaders, and expansion tools must be inspected, thoroughly cleaned, and dried before being stored.

  2. Check cutting blades; close cutting blades and fold blade heads when not in use; check and clean separating blades, vise jaws; inspect the end grooves of jacks. For hydraulic pumps, check the engine fuel level and the hydraulic oil level in the reservoir.

  3. Inspect the operation of the control lever, the engine of hydraulic pumps, and the pressure relief valve.
