Guidance on Military Service Registration When Changing Residence

Many individuals are concerned about how the registration for military service will be handled in cases of changes in residence or changes in place of work or study. The following article will help clarify these concerns.

Guidance on Transfer Registration for Military Service

The implementation process for transfer registration for military service is as follows:

- Citizens who have registered for military service must proceed to the Commune-level Military Command to handle the transfer registration for military service when changing their place of residence, employment, or education.

If the agency or organization does not have a Military Command, the head or legal representative of the agency or organization is responsible for organizing the procedures for the citizen to register for the transfer of military service at the place of residence;- Within 1 day, the Commune-level Military Command is responsible for handling the procedures for the citizen to register for the transfer of military service and:- Issue a referral letter for the transfer of military service registration or a referral letter for the transfer of reserve soldiers to the citizen; Reserve soldier card;- Remove the citizen from the Registers of those ready for conscription or the Register of reserve soldiers.- Within 10 days, the Commune-level Military Command consolidates and reports the results to the District-level Military Command. The District-level Military Command consolidates and removes the citizen from the Registers of those ready for conscription or the Register of reserve soldiers in case the citizen has changed their place of residence, employment, or education outside the district.

The dossier for transfer registration for military service includes:

- Referral letter for the transfer of military service registration or referral letter for the transfer of reserve soldiers;- Copy of the Military Service Registration Certificate or Reserve Soldiers Registration Certificate (bring the original for comparison);- Copy of the introduction letter to transfer household registration issued by the district, town, district-level city police agency, and equivalent administrative units regarding the change of residence or the decision of the head of an agency or organization regarding the change of place of employment or education (bring the original for comparison).

Guidance on Receiving Registration for Military Service

The implementation process for receiving registration for military service is as follows:

- Within 10 days from the date of arriving at the new place of residence, employment, or education, citizens are required to go to the Commune-level Military Command to directly register for military service.

If the agency or organization does not have a Military Command, the head or legal representative of the agency or organization is responsible for organizing the procedures for the citizen to register for the transfer of military service at the place of residence.- Within 1 day, the Commune-level Military Command, agency, or organization is responsible for guiding the citizen in registering for the transfer of military service; entering the citizen into the Registers of those ready for conscription or the Register of reserve soldiers; and compiling the Reserve Soldier card.- Within 10 days, the Commune-level Military Command consolidates and reports the results to the District-level Military Command. The District-level Military Command consolidates, manages the list of citizens registering for military service transfer, Reserve Soldier card; entering the citizen into the Registers of those ready for conscription or the Register of reserve soldiers.

The dossier includes:

- Referral letter for the transfer of military service registration or referral letter for the transfer of reserve soldiers;- Reserve Soldier card.
